Finally got my hands on this!

Day 73

The Clinique CC Cream!!!!

I first heard about the CC cream in early April or so. I was at Macy's in Bellingham and it had not yet launched in the US. It was due to come out in May. When I was in Portland last month, they had it but I talked myself out of buying it because I still had foundation. Well I've regretted not buying this ever since! And today it has finally launched in Canada. Its so new that when I went to Sephora, all of the testers were still sealed and none of the sales people knew much about it. So I hit up the Clinique counter at The Bay for help and finally bought it!

The reason I've been dying to get my hands on this is because I am not hugely into makeup. I am horrible at putting it on and the main reason I wear foundation is for the sunscreen benefits it provides. The CC cream is more of a tinted moisturizer with an SPF 30. I'm fortunate enough to not have acne and relatively even skin tone so there really is no reason to wear heavy foundation (except for the SPF!)

I got the shade Light Medium... and the sales lady gave me this cute key chain :)

Spent the day baking muffins (Bobby's doing homework and the weather is not so nice... dear summer, where are you?!)... and later, I'll sand my recently spackled lego spice rack

Hedgie bath time!

Day 70

Cleaned the apartment today... and also bathed the two tiny terrors.

Kiwi and Chaos hate baths. HATE. They always freak out the minute you put them in water and then they crap all over the place which is why I have to bathe them one at a time.

Happy first day of summer!

Day 69

Bobby and I hit up Rogue in Gastown in hopes that it would be as good as the Rogue in Portland. It was not... On the plus side, I got a cool tiki man glass!

Vancouver is about to become more fabulous

Day 68

The Donald was in town and he announced plans to build a building which will feature Vancouver's first pool bar. I hope it will be similar to XS in Vegas. That pool bar is awesome!

Strange staircase

Day 67

Working in the Crosstown area this week and I hit up London Drugs on West Hastings for some drug store stuff. Saw this fancy spiral staircase and thought it was cool. Note that the very top leads to nowhere :/. This would've been way cooler if it was a slide!!

Steal of the century

Day 63

One of the items on my bucket list is to build something. I saw a lego spice rack on facebook and so Bobby and I are going to build one :)
We hit up the Home Depot on Termonal Ave and bought two pieces of scrap wood for one dollar. One dollar!!!! What a steal!!!!! !

Happy birthday, Bobby! (Next month)

Day 62

Two months of blogging has gone by super fast!!!

So Bobbys birthday is next month and I never know what to buy him. We were hanging out in Yaletown earlier this week and we hit up the ultimate man store: Revolucion (Check them out at http://revolucionstyle.com/). There we found the safety razor (shavers) and Bobby really wanted one.

I decided to hook him up for his birthday and get him the razor, the shaving cream and the shaving cream brush. We went back to the store today and the guy was super nice and he gave us a discount and he also threw in a pack of blades for free!

Got all of this plus a pack of razors (and minus the L'Occitane case) for  108$!!!
All lathered up
The first cut
PS: Happy 8th month day to baby Luca!!!

Smoke alarm test!

Day 60

Today I'm working 12-8pm and I was sooooo looking forward to sleeping in.... however they are testing the smoke alarms in the building between 8:30-3:30 so I had to wake up early. Lovely. It is 9:30am and they just finished with my suite... just a few more hours to go until work!

Kiwi, unimpressed (not with the noise but with me waking her up)
Morning mocha!
PS: So I was quite sick over the weekend (runny nose and dry throat turning into a hacking cough) and Najin, who I was with last Sat night, texted me let me know she was not feeling well.. and Bobby says he isn't feeling well either... Uh oh!!!

Gettin' organized

Day 59

I finally found the perfect containers to organize my bathroom with... mason jars!!!! I found the perfect wide mouth mason jars at Chocolate Mousse (a hidden gem of a kitchenware store deep on the west end of robson). I've been in pursuit for the perfect mason jars but Canadian Tire and Michaels didn't have ones that I liked

The bigger jars were 2.50$ (or maybe 2.75$ each, I cant remember) and the smaller ones were 1.95$ each. Definitely affordable and I love how they are dishwasher safe for when they get dirty :)

Tight rope walker on the sea wall

Day 58 part three

Came across a sword juggling unicycler on Robson St. yesterday... and a tight rope walker on the sea wall today... Oh summer in Vancouver, you are awesome!

My baggus have arrived!!!!

Day 58 Part two

Last year, I bought a baggu reusable bag from modcloth.com. It pretty much lives in my purse and I use it for any random purchases I make. I love my baggu bag... however, everytime I am with Bobby, he refuses to carry the baggu bag because it is "too girly". What is so girly about a neon orange bag with foxes in it?!?! So anyway, I bought two more baggus... one in a "masculine" smokey grey colour (for Bobby to carry heavier purchases) and I also bought a baby baggu in red for my lunch bag.

PS, these bags took about two weeks to clear customs. I ordered them about three weeks ago :/

Kiwi the Hoarder Part Two

Day 58

Yesterday I was playing with Kiwi so I opened their cage door so she could run home whenever she wanted. I guess I forgot to lock the door because Chaos and Kiwi were obviously exploring the apt last night (the other side of the door is covered in shavings and their green ball is no longer in the cage). Kiwi found a nerf gun ammo and decided to bring it home with her. What a little cutie!!!

Juggler on a unicycle

Day 57 Part 2

Second worst day ever

Day 57

Still sick. My throat isnt dry anymore but my nose is somewhat runny. My head hurts and my back hurts. My chest hurts from coughing... only got 4 hours of sleep. Happy Sunday

(PS I will try to get back to posting pics.)

Worst night ever

Day 56

No pics so that I wont have to remember this evening

Costco craziness

Day 55

Hit up Costco (and the liqour store and Save On!) for the bbq tomorrow... here's the cart line up at the downtown Costco! I like how they lined them up so you can easily grab one before going into the store...Talk about organization ;)

Kiwi, my couch potato!

Day 54 Part two

Chaos, the little engine that could

Day 54

Here's my Kay-Kay eating a cat treat. Chaos was named after a character from Sonic the Hedgehog. However, the name ended up suiting her perfectly because she really is chaotic. She's hyperactive and messy. For whatever reason, humans don't freak her out, but Kiwi, who she lives with (and is her daughter!!!), makes her spike out ALL THE TIME. For example, if Chaos is running on her wheel, or eating, and I happen to walk in the room, she'll stop what she's doing, assess the situation, then carry on with her activity. However, if she is out and about in her cage and Kiwi comes anywhere near her, Chaos starts to hiss and spike out... Oh Chaos, I love that you are such a weirdo....

The worst part about working 10-6...

Day 53 Part two

... is coming home hungry. No time to wait for a proper dinner. Sandwich, fruit and yogurt it is!! I feel like this is a second lunch!!

Dinner finished in 15 minutes tops!

The best part about working 10-6

Day 53

Is being able to work out before work without having to get up too early ;)

Revenge Wears Prada!

Day 52

I didn't even know that there was a sequel to the Devil Wears Prada... which I found to be only okay. I liked the movie better. However, I need a girly summer read book so I figured I'd check in on Andy Sachs

Fat cat on my patio!

Day 51

I am constantly running into my neighbours' dogs but I have never seen a cat in this building... until now!

Much deserved pedi...

... after yesterday's hike! :)

Day 51

Hit up La Lotus for a much needed pedi. Especially after yesterday's hike ;)

Hiking in the North Shore

Day 50

Went on a hiking excursion today in beautiful Deep Cove. It took just over two hours because we were also geo caching. Found 3/3 geo caches today (usually, when we go geo caching, we don't find all of the ones we attempt which is frustrating! haha) . I definitely feel accomplished :)

Channeling my inner Martha Stewart...

Day 49

I've been feeling creative lately and so I finally made the trip to Michael's to buy a scrapbook so I can document some of my favorite moments in an artistic way. I bought a scrapbook kit for half off (30$ with tax) and I got right down to work. (Side note: Scrap booking is one of the items on my "30 before 30" list!!)

Making a border out of two different ribbon patterns!
One of my most favorite vacations is my first (and only until the end of this year) trip to New York City. Bobby and I went two years ago right after my birthday and for our first anniversary. We were only there for five days but we managed to do tons of touristy things (A visit to Liberty Island, ground zero and MoMA, a trip up the Empire State Building, an evening sojourn to Brooklyn, a horse and carriage ride through Central Park and a quick visit at the Central Park zoo, and of course, a Broadway Show (The Addams Family) among other things...)

For our anniversary, we hit up Five Points which is an amazing place
for brunch. Then we went to a matinee showing for The Addams Family
I've been wanting to go back to New York since coming back so Bobby and I have decided to ring in 2014 in Times Square. To say I'm excited is a complete understatement!!!

New York, I love you!!! ♥♥♥
