The Valentine's Paella

We decided to make dinner at home for Valentine's. I don't think it's worth it to go out during Valentine's Day - restaurants are over packed, and food/service quality decreases because it's so busy... so we decided to postpone our night out by a couple of weeks :)

I wanted to make something romantic - something we don't eat all the time... so I found a simple to follow paella recipe. Click here for the recipe we used.

The first step was to buy the ingredients. We skipped clams because there were no fresh clams at the grocery store. Also, I had no idea saffron was so expensive!!!
Bobby was in charge of un-casing and chopping up the chorizo...
I was on garlic and onion dicing duty... Onions always make me cry!
Bobby pay attention to what you are cooking!!!
I don't have cookware that can go from stove top to oven... so we started cooking in the frying pan before transferring it into this Le Creuset dish and throwing everything in the oven (Side note: No I was not that idiot who bought this dish for 100$ - I got this at Winners for 24.99$ - best deal ever)
After an hour of intense labour, we were rewarded with yummy paella and beer

The recipe was very delicious and super easy to follow/make. I highly recommend it! :) The only downside is that the recipe serves 8... so I had it eat it three days in a row... but it was so yummy that it was worth it!

Happy love day from my little cuties
